The Global Supply Analyst position primary focus will be on Sourcing analytics. This position will support global sourcing initiatives at the overall corporate level and in parallel be an active sourcing resource for other sites/legal entities within the OraSure family by being a specialist in reviewing, identifying, tracking, and understanding trends involved with the corporate spend data of the organization.  This position will work with financial accounting to track trends of costs by commodity, product line, supplier, etc.  The position will work to assure product costs are updated in SAP, and savings projects are tracked for effectiveness to hit monthly, quarterly, yearly savings goals and metrics.


Additional responsibilities also include supporting the Manger of Strategic Sourcing on multiple strategic sourcing initiatives including maintaining and developing our critical supplier base across raw materials and contract manufacturing. The position will support our development teams, enginnering, and contract manufacturing partners in the sourcing of capital procurement and improvement projects. 


The position will be a member of our Supply Chain Organization supporting, identifying, and recommending the development, implementation and management of different strategies to provide OraSure with optimal supply assurance, pricing, flexibility, quality and delivery performance.


Compile and analyse excel data utilizing pivot tables providing accurate information. Generate monthly and quarterly metric report outs for cost savings, avoidances and other key metrics to track the performance of the supply chain organization.  Ensure metrics reports are published on time and strategies are developed to optimize sourcing performance. 

  • Support development of strategic category plans
  • Analyze current spend and evaluate current suppliers. Consolidate spend across supply base to create leverage, analyze purchasing trends and develop sourcing alternatives. Identify new high potential suppliers on global basis.
  • Develop key performance measures for chosen suppliers and negotiate on multiple variables to award longer-term strategic contracts that result in significant cost reduction and improved service levels.
  • Develop spend strategies, identify potential suppliers, analyze supplier capabilities, select suppliers and determine prices, terms, and conditions of agreements.
  • Work collaboratively with other Supply Chain Teams and Buyer/Planners to provide data and assistance as required.
  • Evaluate supplier business proposals and present recommendations that will result in cost savings, avoidance or containment.
  • Create competitive environments with suppliers to support a negotiation strategy.
  • Evaluate and provide guidance on final selection of suppliers; Perform value analysis for final selection of suppliers.
  • Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models.
  • Support end-to-end contract management process with supply, quality and equipment agreements.
  • Assist with the negotiation of new and existing company key supplier base by providing cost models, historical trends, growth projections, and other analytical tools.
  • Prepare and draft documents for various functions in the procurement and supply chain teams as required.
  • Maintain key stakeholder relationships with the ability to work cross-functionally and foster relationships within the organization to support various sourcing programs.
  • Prepare and process various forms involving change orders, requests for quotation, refunds, cost of lost or damaged goods, freight charges, rentals, and similar items.

    • Provide internal and market analytics in support of strategic category plans
    • Support and/or lead execution of procurement plans; role dependent on category/project complexity.
    • Assist/lead identification & screening/selection of potential sources
    • Assist/lead in determining appropriate method and employing leading practices
    • RFP/RFQ - Lead or support preparation of competitive go-to-market events (solicitation of bids, quotations and proposals) with pertinent specifications, terms and conditions.
    • Assist in ensuring NDA’s, SOW’s, and Master Purchase Agreements are positioned appropriately before business is initiated.
    • Evaluate offerings and recommend best offer for a product or service
    • Maintain agreement files as required
    • Understand how to access and influence specifications as required for category
    • Prepare periodic category performance reports for assigned categories
    • Support budget management processes as required for categories
    • Support risk management as required.
    • Drive continual cost reduction and avoidance initiatives through ad hoc price negotiations.
    • Drive supply base consolidation where possible.
  • Support the vendor selection process with engineering & supply chain teams – with special focus on capital and equipment projects
  • Perform special assignments as required.


  • Strong mathematics skills are required
  • Analytical, financial skills and experience with spend, cost metrics and contract reviews required
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills. Must be able to clearly express ideas and communicate with employees and various levels of management.  Must be able to resolve conflicts and give positive and negative feedback.
  • Strong organizational skills are required to meet deadlines and prioritize activities with staff.
  • Proven working experience in a procurement/ strategic sourcing role within the Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, or Medical Industry. Experience with GMP/ISO manufacturing operations or other regulated environment is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams is preferred. Ability to work in team/matrix organization is required.
  • Excellent problem solving skills to evaluate the information and apply sound judgment when dealing with routine issues.
  • Proficient with Microsoft suite of applications including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activitiES
  • Experience with project implementation is preferred.
  • Previous SAP experience is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel between local sites, domestic and international suppliers as needed.
  • The successful candidate will be a self-starter; motivated with some overall Sourcing Expertise and the ability to succeed in a Matrix organization.


B.S./B.A. (Business, Finance, or Engineering is desirable) or Supply Chain or equivalent combination of

experience and education. 


Five years of progressive experience in supply chain or procurement.
